God is light. The first thing He created was light from darkness! The Light of the World gave light as His first part of creation. He separated the light from the darkness. [Genesis 1:1-5]
And God saw the light, that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness.[Gen 1:4 KJV]
Throughout God’s Word we are given the description of light versus dark as good versus evil. He knows all before it happens. Even on His first day of creation He knew the world would have light and darkness in it, good and evil. Yet, He gave us light for both day and night so we would never be in darkness. We could have the reminder He is always there!
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also.[Gen 1:16 KJV]
God rules over all. Evil never wins. [Gen 1:18 KJV] God’s light shines forever, in all spaces and places, guiding us in our steps. Even King David understood this. He mentions the Light of God many times in his psalms. [Psa 18:28, Psa 27:1, Psa 74:16, Psalm 139:11-12]
Thank you, God, that you are Light. Thank you for always shining and never fading. Thank you that, even in this dark, dark world, your Light shines bright for those seeking you to give us wisdom, comfort, and strength. Your light is there for anyone who desires to find it.
|For You will light my lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. [Psa 18:28 NKJV]|
[A Psalm] of David. The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD [is] the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? [Psa 27:1 NKJV]
The day [is] Yours, the night also [is] Yours; You have prepared the light and the sun. [Psa 74:16 NKJV]
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light [are] both alike [to You]. [Psalm 139:11-12 NKJV]
