For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
[2Ti 1:12 NKJV]
Last night I had my weekly call with a dear friend and sister in Christ. We spend part of the time talking about current events, part of it letting me vent since I have no one other than my husband with whom I can discuss things, and the other part praying.
A topic that came up last night was how we need to be on fire for Christ right now and how do we do that when conservatives and believers in Christ are getting canceled left and right by the new CC. We were talking about how difficult it is to bring up Christ to friends, family, and other people we encounter. It’s like we wait for a perfect opportunity, even though we know there is never a perfect time – especially now when time is so short. Then, it becomes a daily prayer to the Lord asking for wisdom, courage, and any opportunity.
Being willing to share Christ, and not being ashamed of our devotion to Him, is being fully committed to Christ. He gave His life so we could have eternal life with Him. In turn, because we love Him and believe in Him, we commit to being a witness for Him.
Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
[2Ti 1:13-14 NKJV]
Dear Jesus,
As we await your glorious return for your Bride, please give us courage to share the Gospel with anyone who crosses our paths. Give us wisdom to proceed and the words to speak. Lord, help us not be ashamed of our love for you. You were not ashamed of us, and you gave your life for us. Help us remain committed to you one hundred percent – help us not deviate from your path. You are our hope in these dark days. Please help us share that hope with others.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
