Prayer Day 46: Victory

2021-03-12 By Heather

But thanks [be] to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

[1Co 15:57 NKJV]

Our victory is in Jesus! He came to earth. He died and rose. He conquered eternal death so we could live!

There are so many days I wake and wonder how I am going to get through the day. I don’t consider myself depressed or sullen. I just know my spirit is heavy laden with what is happening in the world.

Even though evil is attempting to cancel out good – and it is getting more prevalent by the day – we can know that God is still on the throne. He sent His Son, and then the Holy Spirit, because He knew we would face many days like this. Evil cannot win – ever – when we stand solid in Christ.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

[Luk 11:13 NKJV]

Webster’s Dictionary defines victory as “: the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist.” (Victory) Victory in the world can mean trophies; positions of power; being number one. Or, depending on your generation, it means an award for doing very little or just being present. The word has been watered down in meaning and has even turned evil in some cases. The world’s view of victory is now, quite often, just the opposite of overcoming an enemy. Victory by the enemy is now seen as a good thing. The world thinks they are winning the fight.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we know that the truth is just the opposite. God is allowing the enemy to have the “victory”, but God is always in control. God will only let the enemy have “victory” for so long. Eventually, God will step in, we just don’t know exactly when.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

[Isa 41:10 NLT]

For humanity, our victory was at the cross when Christ sacrificed for us. For the Church, we have victory when Christ comes for His bride. For the rest of the world, victory is had when Christ returns to sit on the throne here on earth.

Oh, what glorious events those will be! Our victory is in Jesus who is always good because God is good and just. As we go about our days, and nights, let us remember that God’s greatness outshines and outlasts everything.

Victory is His!

Yours, O LORD, [is] the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all [that is] in heaven and in earth [is Yours]; Yours [is] the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all.

[1Ch 29:11 NKJV]
O victory in Jesus
My Savior, forever
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood

Victory In Jesus Lyrics

Victory in Jesus – Steven Curtis Chapman (feat. Herb Chapman, Sr and Herb Chapman, Jr)

Victorious (Official Lyric Video) – Third Day

Dear Jesus:

Thank you for being our victory! Your selfless act has saved us from an eternal death. Even though we see so much suffering and lawlessness in our world, we know that the victory is yours. We know that God wins in the very end. Help us remember our victory is through you and you alone. Guide us and give us wisdom in our daily walk in your Word and in sharing your truth and light. All one needs to do to have victory through you is to open the door to their heart for you to enter in. Even those who seem beyond help and saving are still yours, Lord. God still created them. Open their hearts. Help them find your victory.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
