Prayer Day 44: Choices

2021-03-10 By Heather

Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.

[Pro 2:11 NLT]

Every day we face choices. We decide whether we get up or stay in bed. We decide what to eat for each meal. We decide what to read; what to listen to; where to put our focus.

Choices are not always around us individually. They often involve one or more people in our lives with whom we interact on a frequent basis. Sometimes our choices create stronger bonds and sometimes they break the bonds – sometimes beyond repair.

Our role as Christians is to make choices that are pleasing to God. That means our choices are not always going to be popular with the masses and more often than not will put us on the side of being outcast by the world.

Is that worth it? Are choices made for Christ better than trying to please those in our lives?

Absolutely! Why? Because Christ must be our first reason for any choice not the last.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

[Mat 6:33 NKJV]

In today’s world, especially with current topics, even Christians are finding themselves divided when it comes to choices. As individuals, we alone will be held responsible at the throne for each choice we make. We do not make other people’s choices for them and they do not make our choices for us. Some may try to force certain choices on us, but we must go to Christ for guidance, not to man.

Making choices for Christ is difficult. It often hurts because our human hearts break when our actions for Christ bring on conflict and persecution from those around us.

What choices are you having to make today? Let your love for the Lord guide you in your decisions.

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” This is [the] first and great commandment.

[Mat 22:37-38 NKJV]
YOU ARE GOD
YOU’RE THE GOD OF MY CHOICES
SPEAK TO ME AND
I WILL RUN TO YOUR VOICE
HERE I AM IN THE NOISE
WON’T YOU LEAD ME
IN MY CHOICES
MY CHOICES

MY CHOICE IS…
YOU JESUS
I AM CHASING AFTER YOU JESUS
LET IT BE THAT I AM SEEKING YOU FIRST
IN THE BEST AND THE WORST I GO THROUGH
