Prayer Day 41: Tears

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.

[Psa 126:5 NKJV]

The last year has been one of sorrow and heartache for so many. Our hearts have been broken seeing people suffer. There has been suffering from loss of friends and family, loss of businesses, loss of homes, loss of security, and loss of life as we knew it.

I have shed tears, many of them, over the last year. It isn’t because we are struggling. God has watched over us and provided. It’s because I see what is happening and feel helpless as an individual.

We are told God is our fortress and deliverer (2Sa 22:2) but the deliverance doesn’t always come quickly. Part of life, and living in a fallen world, means facing trials. Trials often bring tears. However, when we cry out to God He hears us. (2Sa 22:7) We are never alone. (Heb 13:5)

My hope has been and will continue to be in God. I know He sees me, hears my cries, and will help me get through what is happening and whatever is to come next. I’m thankful that only here on earth will I feel this sorrow and pain. Eternal with Christ will be free from all suffering.

He will swallow up death forever, And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces; The rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken.

[Isa 25:8 NKJV]
‘Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
