In a world, especially a nation, that has so much to offer it can be immensely difficult to put God first. We are constantly bombarded with distractions. Distractions are meant to divert us from God on purpose. Evil doesn’t want us to even think about God let alone put Him first and worship Him.
Putting God first is not an option for the believer. We are to put Him first in everything. First in our marriages. First in our families. First in our work. First in every action we take.
Why?
Because we are commanded to do so.
Always put God first and see what He does for you!
And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This [is] the first commandment.

Dear Jesus,
You command us to seek you first and to love you first. You want our undistracted love. You want to be there for us. Our free will allows us to not put you first. Please forgive us if we do not put you first. Help us ignore distractions that keep us from you. Help us love you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Help us put you first in everything.
