Did you know that “But God” is in the NKJV 69 times?
Did you know that the word “but” is defined by dictionary.com as a preposition meaning:
except; apart from; other than?
Dictionary.com
Isn’t that perfect! God is “apart from!” He is the exception! God is greater!
But God! JD Farag of Calvary Chapel Kaneohe has emphasized this phrase many times. When all seems lost or impossible, But God!
When we are afraid, But God! No matter what is happening in this crazy, fallen world, God can always intercede for us. God isn’t the last resort. He is and always should be the first course of action!
Many days I wake and wonder what crazy thing will be headline news (not that I watch news – I have sources I read instead). I think how can I possibly get through another day. But God! No matter how things look in the world God is always in control.
But God!
Dear Jesus:
How grateful I am for your love and mercy. You are greater than anything in this world that is full of sorrow, hurt, and evil. You are my reason for faith, hope and love. You are my go-to. Thank you for being the “but” in my day. Give me the wisdom and courage to face whatever comes my way. Help me remember that because of you I don’t have to be anxious about anything. You are in control. You are always on the throne and are never caught off guard. When everything seems impossible and lost, But you Lord!
In Jesus Name, Amen.
My flesh and my heart fail; [But] God [is] the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
[Psa 73:26 NKJV]
