But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Today was our 16th Wedding Anniversary. As the years have passed, we remember to celebrate but the celebrations tend to be more low key. This year was definitely different because we couldn’t go out. My husband still makes sure to remind me that he loves me so much and he’d do anything for me. He makes every day seem like Valentine’s Day because he shows me through his dedication how much he loves me.
This is my marriage prayer for him to God.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a husband who is loving and kind. You have given him patience and endurance, which you knew he would need with me.
Jesus, my husband works so hard to love me like you love the church. He is my rock when I need solid footing. He is my anchor when I feel like I am sinking.
I am not very good at talking about things with him, yet, he makes sure to ask me to talk because he knows I find words difficult to express. So, thank you for making him a good listener.
Lord, I know I am not the easiest person to be around, especially during harder days. Please help me be a better wife. Help me be more like the Proverbs 31 woman, even if in only some of the ways.
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
[Eph 5:22 NKJV]
My husband is so gentle and his talents for work and music make my heart sing. You knew exactly what I needed. Help me be exactly what he needs, Lord.
Thank you for giving me an Ephesians 5:25 husband with whom I get to share my life until death do us part.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
[Eph 5:25 KJV]
