Prayer Day 36: Sorrow

2021-03-02 By Heather

Sorrow [is] better than laughter, For by a sad countenance the heart is made better.

[Ecc 7:3 NKJV]

There is a heavy sadness over our nation along with the spirit of fear. People are struggling with being shut in. Seniors aren’t allowed to see their families, especially if they live in an assisted living facility. Children haven’t been allowed to play together and see their friends.

As humans we are created for socialization. We are created to be companions to others. Fellowship lifts our spirits and gives us courage and hope.

I know that hardships in life can make us stronger. We grow in adversity. It does not make it any easier, though.

Only God can give us strength in difficult days. He expects us, wants us, to lean into him. Through Him we will make it to the finish line.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

[Jhn 16:33 NKJV]
Come out of sadness from wherever you’ve been
Come broken hearted let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh sinner, come kneel

Earth has no sorrow
That Heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow
That Heaven can’t heal

So, lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer, come home
You’re not too far
So, lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
