I have so many things for which to be thankful. God has provided for us even during this time of my unemployment by keeping my husband gainfully employed.
Now, I know that could change at the drop of a hat the way this economy works, but I have faith that, no matter what, God will provide.
Not everyone has what they need this Thanksgiving. Instead of being able to say thanks, they must rely on others giving just so they can make it through each day. Some of what I have learned over the last year are that what many of us take for granted others dream about and wish to have…laundry soap, toilet paper, blankets, a roof over their head, a warm meal, and hygiene products.
Those items are just a smattering of what people need, and it is here in the USA that the need is great.
Yes, other countries need clean water, education, shoes, etc. And those are just as important. There are days I am out and about and it hits me just how much I have and so much that requires thanks and gratitude.
My prayer for today is that I take the time to truly give thanks for my life and what God has provided. That I take the time to reflect and realize what He has done for us. That I let Him know how grateful I am for everything…more than a quick prayer of “Thank you, Lord, for this food. Amen.”
Entering into prayer with Him in thanks.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. ~ Psalm 100:4
Praising Him in all things.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. ~ Psalm 95:2
Letting God know we glorify Him.
I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. ~ Psalm 69:30
Giving thanks in all things and all seasons of our life.
…always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Ephesians 5:20
Happy Thanksgiving! May your day be blessed and peaceful.
