Chocolate cake filled with cordial cherries, covered in cherry pie filling, and topped with a chocolate frosting. Christmas in a cake!
Cordial Cherry Poke Cake
Ingredients
- 1 box Chocolate Cake Mix
- 3 each Eggs
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 1 cup Water
- 1 can Cherry Pie Filling
- 2 boxes Cordial Cherries
- 1 container Chocolate Frosting
Instructions
- Make cake according to instructions on the box.
- Remove from oven and let cool for about 30 minutes.
- Poke large holes in cake.
- Insert one Cordial Cherry into each hole.
- Poke small holes in cake in between the cherries.
- Pour cherry pie filling over the cake and spread.
- Place container of frosting in microwave.
- Warm for 30 seconds. Stir. (Warm until it is thin enough to pour.)
- Starting in the middle of the cake, pour the frosting over the cherry pie filling. Cover entire cake but avoid the edges.
- Cover until ready to eat.

Stir until smooth.
Pour into a 9×13 pan.
Bake according to the instructions on the box.
